Historians without Borders and Finnish-Indian Society present a two-part series of events on Gandhi’s legacy

The Finnish-Indian Society and Historians without Borders are coming together to organise two events on Gandhi as well as the legacy of Gandhism and the historical culture associated with Gandhi in India.

On Tuesday 18 March 2025 at 17:00, the classic film Gandhi (1982) will be screened at Cinema Orion in Helsinki. The film will be introduced by Docent Raita Merivirta and Shefali Arora, President of the Finnish-India Society.

On Tuesday 25 March 2025 at 16:30, a panel discussion on the historical figure of Gandhi and the legacy and historical culture of Gandhism will take place at the SKS Hall in Helsinki. The panellists are Måns Broo and Markku Lemmetty. Shefali Arora, President of the Finnish-India Society, will moderate the panel.
